Tor Aase Johannessen is a professor of finance at The Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NSEBA), Bergen, Norway.

He has a Ph.D. in Economics from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA. He had a postdoc in economics at Northwestern University, Evanston, USA, following his doctorate. Before returning to Norway, he was an assistant professor in finance for several years, at Columbia University Graduate School of Business, New York. Professor Johnsen has published in leading international, scientific journals. He is a member of the scientific Accreditation Board of the European Financial Analysts' Federation, and is active as a consultant and board member for Norwegian financial institutions.
